Abstract
Precision
manufacturing focuses on the creation of the ever-shrinking features
with extremely tight tolerances. The planning and operation of precision
manufacturing processes presents a difficult challenge for design and
manufacturing engineers as well as process planners. This research proposes
to develop a new methodology for capturing process capability information
for use in a process planning strategy as well as state assessment applications.
A number of different strategies will be investigated for precision
manufacturing applications.
