Abstract 

This study is concerned with an intelligent controller for the machining of mirror quality aspherical or sculptured surfaces by a single point diamond turning machine. The intelligent controller is composed of a feedfoward controller and learning algorithm. The performance of the intelligent controller will be examined through simulation studies and actual machining tests.
