Abstract
Our previous studies have shown that geometric approaches are
highly effective methods for reducing exit burr formation in planar milling. By
adjusting tool positions, tool exits occurring around the workpiece vertices can
be avoided, resulting in no exit burr formation. Algorithms are introduced in
this report that modify tool positions on given tool paths. Simulation results as
well as test examples are shown to demonstrate the feasibility.
