  Tool Entrance/Exit Condition

Abstract

The current criterion for identifying tool entrance and exit regions of a tool-path is based on geometry. The high feed rates and velocities normally found in high-speed machining, changes the classification of regions previously proposed for conventional cutting. A new classification criterion has been proposed, and some experimental observations regarding the same are presented. This classification criterion is important because it gives a better prediction system and helps design reliable tool paths.
